Catching up

It’s been a day of arriving home and catching up on things...unpacking, washing up, putting clothes away, looking after houseplants and cuttings, answering emails and ordinary everyday stuff like that. I didn’t get out much except for a quick greenhouse visit and to stake a few plants that are overgrown and falling over.
Through much of the day’s activity, BIlly has been more or less following me around. He gets on well with our house sitter, N., but he gets a bit clingy when we have been away and wants a lot of stroking and attention. He was probably a dog in a past life. He’s a great cat too, I never had a cat that was so communicative; he must have over a dozen different vocalisation from a demanding yap to a plaintive mew, and when he purrs, you can hear him from a long way off.
With the woodburner alight, he found a comfortable armchair nearby and after a photo and a quick scratch behind the ears, I left him to it.
