be blessed!

Attended my friend S's (the bride) wedding reception today. It was a very modest affair with no unwanted pomp and show. Gathering of nears and dears and people from the neighbourhood. After a long time, I went back to the kind of society I grew up in. The ceremony was held in a club of an industry township. In such townships, it is a very close knit society. People do come and be a part in all your joys and sorrows of life. You're never alone. At the very onset of the ceremony her teachers and principal who taught her when she was in primary school came up on the stage and told some nice things about her - how she was very good at studies and otherwise in school. It was a very nice feeling to see the same social fabric that I left behind years ago.

Where we live in, is completely different. Everybody is so occupied with their own self that we are hardly aware of others' existence. We hardly know who lives behind our next door. Not that I particularly like it but, that's the way it is.

Congratulations on your new life, S and I hope you have a blessed and enjoyable married life. They are off to Singapore now to spend the rest of their lives (at least for the time being)
