Grey Dray

on the wedding day

..aka draught or heavy horses.

The  wedding carriage was powered by the only pair of grey shire horses in the country. Travelling up from Essex, this was the teams delayed last ever event, having previously sold the carriage. A special favour as the village brides family breed shire horses themselves. The shires were adorned with red and orange ribbons, matching the wedding theme colours.

A leisurely parade of vehicles then followed the carriage through the town to the marquee in the village.

The wedding service was held in the church quire, intimate and with it's raised rows of benches with the relaxing of Covid restrictions, and plenty of babies and toddlers present.

Just perfect.
