Frustrating

Very wet today. We decided to try to bag another Wainwright, Seathwaite Fell, but it was wet windy and low cloud. Well, it is the wettest place in England with 140 inches of rain per year, so we were informed by a notice at the start of the walk. (About 3.5  metres) . We thought we’d be ok but most of those inches seemed to be falling today. We kept meeting other people who had given up or told us it was so bad they had altered their plans.
We walked quite a good distance, but couldn’t find an obvious path and just turned back as we were  not finding it particularly pleasant.
I liked this little stone bridge. Stockley Bridge.
We got back soaking wet but nothing a hot  bath, and a mug of coffee and a Chorley cake wouldn’t
sort out. I don’t think we’re going to add very many to our Wainwright count this week.
