When in ... Bakewell

You simply must have a Bakewell Tart :-)

The weather has been 'disappointing' today. We abandoned our attempt on Mam Tor (too slippery with a bouncy dog on the end of a long lead!) and headed in search of kitchen knives which we've been unable to source on the internet. We found a super cookshop in Bakewell with such a helpful lady who assured us that she could post us those knives that are currently unavailable as we are over 18 (did it show that much?!).

Berry had a lovely walk along the riverside, eyeing up the Canada Geese sensibly floating out of reach. There were stacks of waterfowl on the river aswell as a footbridge overwhelmed with padlocks symbolising peoples' love for each other (extra). It was only a little bridge and I did wonder how it bore up under the weight.

We wended our way home reluctantly; the cottage is pretty spartan and in the gloomy weather it is also very dark. No chance of doing any sewing in the evenings.
