20th century inventions

I have to thank Laurie54 for today’s Mono Monday challenge -20th century inventions, for it brought back some very pleasant memories.

The Wright brothers invented the first glider in 1902 and it gave me an excuse to dig out this old photo taken during the 1980s.
I was on a retrieve to get M who had landed out in his glass fibre ASW15 machine near the Wallace monument, Stirling (you can just see it in the background). We were in the process of de-rigging when I sat
In it for a quick photo.

We both used to fly gliders - that’s how we met- and we belonged to the SGU (Scottish Gliding Union) based at Portmoak airfield near Kinross.
