A Bronze and a Hack

This is a Green Frog, a species native to eastern North America. North Central Florida is at the southern boundary of it's range. Interestingly, at least to me, there are two subspecies, the Northern Green Frog and the Bronze Frog. Our's is the Bronze Frog. So, who knew? This little cutie lives happily with it's friends in a small pond at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, here in Gainesville. The butterfly is a Hackberry Emperor, a butterfly in the brushfooted butterfly family and not something I usually see.
