Snack Time

I spent some time at Sweetwater Wetlands Park this morning. It was very quiet. The Winter migratory types haven't arrived yet. As I watched, this Great Blue Heron struck her 'hunting pose'. Since she wasn't near the water I wondered what she was going after. This poor hapless dragonfly barely made a snack for the large bird! In the *extra...a female Anhinga had perched herself on a tall bush and was enjoying the sun's warmth. Her showy golden mantle was on full display.
