Social Distancing From The World - Day 7

Another wildlife rescue in the garden this morning. Spotted this Ladybird caught in a spiderweb, so rescued it and put it somewhere safe to recover. I’m sure the spider will find something else for breakfast...

Sunny spells to start, but the rest of the day has been overcast, damp, windy and still mild at 17. And another busy day sorting stuff indoors, so no time today for baking for tonight’s German Bake Off challenge. Luckily I have some German Lebkuchen and Speculatius in the cupboard, left over from last Christmas!

Worrying local news this evening. Our area, BANES, now has the highest level of COVID infection in England, believed to be the result of the fiasco of people having been given negative PCR results, when in fact they were positive, as reported in the national news: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54923641

But also some great news today! After a very long 2 years and 7 months, my brother is finally coming home! An hour ago, he finally got permission from Singapore Immigration (not to leave, but to renter Singapore on his return from the UK). Flight is booked and he arrives this Friday at 6am! What with everything that’s going on/will be going on here over the next four weeks or so, the cavalry is finally on its way!! Phew...

Take care, stay safe and well...
