More fungi are appearing in the woods this week. Today I explored Rice Wood  and found two young Wrinkled Peach on a decorticated Elm trunk (see extra), showing exactly how it acquired its English name. 

Other finds included Shaggy Parasol, Deer Shield, Aniseed Funnel (which smelt really very strong) and a Brittlegill associated with Oak, which I may or may not be able to put a name to. Despite being brightly coloured the Brittlegills are surprisingly hard to identify! 

I also came across this species which I think might be Pale Brittlestem emerging from a carpet of soft moss and fallen Elm leaves.
