Being away for 6 weeks raises the important question of what does one do with the sourdough starter! Having failed to keep it alive in the past, I decided to make a fresh batch and immediately put it in the fridge overnight and then next morning into the freezer for the duration. An entirely unscientific experiment but a different approach from the past when I let it develop first and then froze it. I put it into the fridge when we arrived back and let it thaw out, then at room temperature all day yesterday. Dumped the majority and re-fed last night and then today it behaved as if I had never left - this is the second turn and it looks like we will have a loaf tomorrow! Otherwise today was work catch up and an excellent and eventful Champions League match watched with LV when Liverpool defeated Atletico Madrid 3 - 2
