Autumnal colours

Despite it being forecast as a pretty wet day we managed to get outside several times today.  First was a walk with our grandson to the beach, he managed to walk all the way down to the shops before riding back on his trike.  Then straight after lunch I took my sister to Bystock Pools and the commons beyond.  There were still several large dragonflies darting around and it was the first time I had seen that the ferns had turned a lovely golden colour.  We had a brief rain shower as we walked around the common but the sun then came back out afterwards.  While we wandered around taking different routes through the wooded areas we noticed two separate couples out collecting fungi.  Its certainly a good time for fungi viewing now but we mainly came across fairly well chewed varieties.

While our grandson is suffering with a cold we are all trying our hardest to avoid catching it, time will tell.
