On Tower Hill

A late start after a not-very-good night's sleep. Woken at 4.00am by torrential rain on the roof light in the hall, and didn't drop off again until the alarm was due to go off. Then out like a light for an hour! Hey ho!

Made a big pot of soup this morning for lunches over the next couple of weeks. Involved lots of therapeutic chopping of veg.

Pulled out of the Digital Inclusion session this afternoon, and it seems I wasn't the only one. The number of Covid cases in the locality are increasing very rapidly, and I couldn't face the thought of so many people in a smallish stuffy room, with no chance of social distancing. Last week I was the only person wearing a mask.

Meant I had time to spare for some exercise on the bike as well as a walk. Stopped a couple of times on the way to chat with Rose, and then Ginny - hadn't seen either of them for several months. Walked up to the war memorial on Tower Hill - the cross on the memorial is lovely. It's thought that a wooden castle stood on the hill in the 12th century.

Back to put the second coat of oil on the cupboard floor.

A long chat on the phone with MrM this evening. It'll be good to have him home tomorrow...
