Arrakis

Otherwise known as Dune.  One of my all time favorite SciFi book series and a big fan of the cult 1980's David Lynch film of the same name, I was really looking forward to Denis Villeneuve's treatment of the subject.  After recording the first chapter of Tess this morning and getting quite a bit of BG work done while Leyna was out seeing a friend she hadn't seen for 2 years, we sat back in our home theater as this newly released film is also streaming on HBO and so we were able to avoid going to the cinema and have our own healthier snacks while watching this epic.  It only covers the first half of the book, but it was a cinematographic masterpiece with excellent acting and the musical score, also by one of my favorite film score composers Hans Zimmer was also excellent.  Will have to wait a while, it seems, for the second half of the story but I thorougly enjoyed this new version of part 1.
