Finally!

Feel like we finally got in the holiday groove today :) Took a trip in our wee hire car and saw quite a bit of the island.

Timanfaya National Park is well worth a visit, with a trip through the badlands and volcanic landscapes. The colours are amazing: reds, blacks and the odd spot of ochre. Lichens grow here too so there were splashes of pale green and yellows.

And then it was onto the Jardin de Cactus, all artfully arranged thanks to César Manrique. Loved this place and was photographing everything, much to the teenagers’ disdain. Several pics from here in Extras along with a few other highlights.

Going diving tomorrow - haven’t done that for at least 20 years so wish me luck!
