Derelict Sunday

A drive through the area near the Ozark National Forest yields many abandoned homes and buildings. We had a discussion while in the car that if we were new to the area we would think something must have gone terribly wrong and an economic depression hit the State hard.
Outside of the larger cities, it's always been hard to earn a living in the Ozarks. With this particular home, it's clear it was once a very nice home with acreage and several other buildings on the property. It's a beautiful landscape and it's easy to see the attraction of wanting to live there.
I would imagine the owners had to leave after getting too old to keep it up and most likely unable to find a buyer as it's in a rather remote area.
