View of the Storm

Neither the cat nor I ventured out in this weather. The intrepid Mr S, however, geared up and went for his usual morning walk. I preferred to make lasagna. It's dark and stormy, but right here in town we're snug and safe. I stand at the window and watch the trees undulate like giant sea animals. The wind hums in the badly hung upstairs window; the rasping haunted sound alarms a visitor. This seems early in the season for a big storm; maybe it will finally be a year of Enough Rain. In the meantime the media is having a frenzy, warning of this and that, stirring us all up to stock our pantries, but not too much in the freezer in case the power goes out.

Granddaughter isn't coming down the hill for dinner, not wanting to take a chance with possible falling trees and blocked roads. Less than a half hour away, and the weather is so much more intense up there.
