In front of the new shower

For the firt time in just over ten weeks, S and I went back to Auckland; to the new home in Titirangi. We were last there for her birthday in August; just a few days later we went into lockdown. Initially it was at level 4 (for five weeks) since when it has been relaxed a little to level 3, with minor adjustments in the last fortnight.

We were pleased to see some work has been done, although much is still awaited. The upstairs bathroom is nearly finished. The final plumbing of the toilet, a handle on the door, and tidying up and cleaning. The tiles in the shower look really good, so i decided on a selfie in the mirror, with the shower being seen behind me.

It was even better to see our family. J came to the new home and spent some time with us. we then went to see C and her boys (and the dog). First time we have seen Young L since S' birthday gathering. He has gained at least an inch in height in that time, and is looking and sounding much more mature than a 13 year old.

Auckland DHB has reached just over 90% first dose of the Covid vaccine and about 80% second dose. The other two metro DHBs lag a little but all should be at or very close to the required 90% by the end of November. This should allow easing of the restrictions. Unsure what it will mean for me as regards working remotely or not.

The anti-vaxxers include some people who will stop at nothing to spread misinformation. Including identifying deaths as being caused by Covid or the vaccine when it was clearly not related.

Been thinking. Rather than official bans on unvaccinated persons , I think that (a) everyone who is vaccinated should carry a vaccine passport, and (b) all businesses should be required to have a sign indicating whether they accept customers without a vaccine passport. I know what I would do if I had the choice of shopping at a supermarket that allowed unvaccinated persons in, or one that didn't.

I've added an extra of the desk (from the apartment) which is set up in the new home, and yet to be used.
