Photograph of the noisy miner

No one invented the noisy miner. It evolved. Someone invented photography. The credit goes to French inventor Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1826, considered the world’s first photographer and the true inventor of photography as we know it today.

There are many reasons to celebrate photography as an invention which has kept developing, including ever better lenses, film, colour and digital. My personal celebration is photography's unique ability to capture a moment. On occasions I've gone back and tried to shoot the same thing again but I'd have been better off not trying.

This photo of a noisy miner is SOOC. This bird is native to Australia and occupies the south east. It is not endangered but it's protected. There seem to be more of them compared to 20 years ago and the increase has been correlated with the reduction of avian diversity in human-affected landscapes.

Thanks for hosting Laurie54, but I understand you're seeking to hand it over due to your accident. All good wishes for a speedy recovery.
