Us and our place.

Out the front door and onto the Solway mudflats at low tide after our porridge. Our National Trust for Scotland house is in the photo - it’s the one next to me, located just above the foreshore. We walked across to Rough Island which we can see from the house and then to the edge of the turning tide. As we know the tide comes in quickly here and you have to be cautious; we watched it encroach on my wife’s wellingtons… before we headed back (for hot chocolate). A simple morning walk, great for wellbeing - really pleasurable. (Some extra photos)

We’d a picnic lunch at NTS Threave Gardens and a walk through the Estate. Lovely autumn colours (extra photos). We’d also stayed at a couple of their cottages here years ago, so we sought them out.

Great family chat today. They’re well.
