The legend that is Shane Howarth

Tonight i was asked to help out with some photographs at the Newport RFC Hall of Fame night, where player from many eras were inducted into the hall of fame. One of those players was the legend Shane Howarth. It was lovely to see him back at Rodney Parade again, just shame he was only visiting.

I remember not long after he signed for Newport He came into a dealership i was working at. With him was Andy Marinos, another star Newport had signed. As i was and still am a major fan of Newport RFC my jaw hit the floor. They were after car sponsorship, which my boss turned down as he didn't know who they were, what a knob he was. So as they were leaving i rushed to my car to get a program i knew that was there stopped them and asked for their autograph. Very nice gentlemen indeed, we talked for a short time and then they went on their merry way.

It was a great night were there were many inducted into the hall of fame and it was a privilege to have been asked to help out.
