Crosskeys have been the dominant force in Gwent over the last couple of years so it was up to Newport to start to regain that crown. Tonight was like all other derby clashes, very tense, very emotional and very very tough going.

It was a very tight game going into half time, 7-6 to Newport. The second half was no different, although Crosskeys were going into the dying minutes in front. But with a few clever substitutions, Newport found the spark through Elliott Frewen who went over the white wash in time added on to clinch the match.
