Sunset at Hjálparfoss

A busy day today, with excellent weather conditions for photography. We started the day at the Strokkur geyser (and the dormant Geysir that gave all the geysers worldwide their name), where the rising sun made for wonderful images, either by backlighting the water of the geyser or by lighting the hills in the opposite direction. We also visited a couple of waterfalls. This shot of the Hjálparfoss waterfall (or rather a pair of waterfalls that conjoin) is the winner for me today. It's been quite a while since I have seen such beautiful light and in Iceland in this time of year this golden light can last for a long time.

I've added one of the Strokkur images as an extra to this blip.
