Fall flowers

This dahlia died, or nearly (like the snake), but has come back to life just as things are winding down for the season. Will try to overwinter it. The cosmos in the extra is one of the last blooms...but the bees are hanging on!

A fairly productive day. The wind kept blowing til late afternoon, tossing around fragment flocks of geese and starlings - a sight I love. It's tranquil now and still warm enough for end-of-season crickets.
