Desperately seeking

Magna

We had a lovely day out today with the grandchildren at an old steel works in Rotherham. Steel making was a big part of the Sheffield area's industrial history and now one of the old sites has been turned into Magna Science Adventure Centre.

Some of the old equipment is still in place and there are talks about the making of steel with lighting effects to mimic the molten metal. Photography wasn't easy here in the low lighting but I've put a few shots in Extras.

The interactive displays in the building were based around Earth, Wind, Water and Fire so there was plenty for the children to do. We had lunch there and then the kids had a run around in the huge well-equipped play area.

Having paid today, we can get in again free during the next 12 months.
