Duchess of Sutherland 6233

Heavy downpours all night left me a bit sleepy this morning. Or perhaps it was last evening's beers. Anyhow, I took in the fresh air this morning and walked around the country lanes, timing my walk to arrive at a vantage point in time for the Midland Bristolian passing us at 12:33.

The Duchess of Sutherland was built in 1938 and is an LMS Coronation Class locomotive, allegedly th most powerful built. She did 1.65 million miles in service, and was painted in LMS Crimson to celebrate her 80th birthday.

I joined a fair few spotters this morning, and this evening I shall did try again for her return leg. Do give it a look in Large and visit the Flickr link.
