Thank You For the Days ..

Happy Hallowe'en from the Hornshole Hillbillies

This is probably the only Saturday of the year when I don't think where can I go for a Silly Shot (fond memories of Observer and her inspired idea for  the challenge).

The folk who live on the bad bend on the back road into Hawick can be relied upon for a splendid North American style show. I've put a lot of shots in extras, the final is the view across the road, rural Scotland typified).

Hornshole is just a bend in the river, where back in 1514 the young lads of Hawick managed to put one over on the English invaders, some kind of restoration of pride after the debacle of the year before when most of Scotland's fighting men came to a dismal end at Flooden Field. There is a memorial stone, of course, visited every year during the Common Riding. Long memories round here.
