Day 27 Level 3 Lockdown Step 1

The day started well with a rainbow directly in front of us as we looked out to the harbour, so that is today’s blip.

I had a busy morning - dentist, then the usual Monday morning work, then to the osteopath, who believes that the pain in my left leg is being caused by the piriformis muscle pressing down on the sciatic nerve.  So I have exercises to do, plus a heat and ice schedule three times a day.  Fingers crossed it works so I can get back walking.

There are 162 new community cases today – another highest daily count. Of those, 156 are in Auckland, five in the Waikato and one is in Northland. There was also a glimmer of good news, as Auckland will move to Level 3 Step 2, but not until midnight next Tuesday, 9 November. This means another slight easing of restrictions:
Retail can operate, with customers able to enter premises, wearing face coverings and keeping two metres apart;
Public facilities like libraries and museums can reopen, with face coverings and two-metre physical distancing required; and
Outdoor gatherings of up to 25 people can go ahead, with the two-bubble rule removed.
