Watts Chapel

We took a trip out to Watts Gallery and Watts Chapel in Compton, Surrey today with Maria, Pete's sister.

Watts Gallery is a purpose built art gallery created for the display of works by the Victorian artist George Frederick Watts (1817-1904).

The chapel here is a Grade 1 listed building, consecrated in 1898. Mary Watts, the wife of George Watts was the artistic force behind the design, building and decoration of the chapel. The above link will tell you more about it should you be interested.

We are off to Sheffield early tomorrow morning to visit Rafi. It is likely that I will not access Blip until Monday so I will be a little behind with comments.

Wishing you all a Happy Easter.
