Walnut Tree Cottage ...

..... ..... ..... very near to where I used to live.
It’s on the site of a former café, which has been sold and is now trading as Akarua Wines & Kitchen. I met a friend there today, for a Birthday Brunch for her. She’s a friend from the old days  and we used to go climbing, skiing and tramping together, as well as taking senior school students on adventurous trips - think snow caving!

Strange goings on with Auckland’s Covid-19 Lockdown. NZ has had the greatest number of new Delta cases today, by far the most are in Auckland, and they’re now going to start going down a level next week. I suspect that the new case numbers will continue to rise as a result. The contributing epidemiologists will be confused & disappointed.

Missy & I went for a long walk alongside Lake Hayes this afternoon, and it was super. Great weather and scenery. Missy did the whole walk off the leash - she’s so biddable these days, much easier! I’ve put a photo from near Lake Hayes in Extras - a great show of buttercups, and the Remarkables.
