Hot Cross Buns

My first attempt at making Hot Cross Buns and though I say it myself they look the part and I can tell you that they also taste the part too.

Followed a recipe by Paul Hollywood, the master baker, shown on the BBC on Wednesday evening as part of the Great Easter Bake Off. This recipe has apple chunks as well as the usual sultanas and cinnamon, so it is a little different.

The cross was easy to apply using a piping bag and the glaze is made from warmed marmalade, sieved to remove the peel. (We didn't have the apricot jam)

With bread making, I'm always amazed that the dough comes together and stops being sticky as you work it more. Very pleased with these.

Any more HCB shots to share? Or tips?
