Not Edible

Most of what we grow here is food, but the dogwood is strictly ornamental.  Buckets of these lovely soft fruits go into the compost bin every year. I suppose that counts as food in an oblique way.

We got our booster shots today!!  It was much harder to sign up on line than it was to actually go to the fairly deserted store and get the shot itself. We were the only ones there. No waiting, no fuss. Jab, jab. Wait a few minutes to check for reactions, and then you're done. So far nothing but a slightly sore arm, and only if I poke it.

The landscaper came today to rescue the monstrous rose that had blown over in last week's storm, taking it's flimsy trellis to the ground. He did a great job of pruning it to the bones, and has set poles for a new indestructible structure to hold it up. That guy gets more done in a few hours than we can even think up, and we are so appreciative of his skills. I did a couple hours of picking and weeding and trimming, but the heavy work is no longer featured in my job description.
