A Hint Of Blue Sky

An extra hour in bed, however we weren’t sure if our radio alarm clock had re-set itself or not, so BB had to get up and check the actual time.  Thankfully we hadn’t slept in, and woke BB in good time to get himself ready.  TT then took him to their start point for an 08:30am start.  It was raining by the time TT got back home, and really raining.  My running stuff was still sitting from yesterday, but I decided to make a pot of soup instead, using up some sweet potatoes and leeks which were languishing in the fridge.  I then baked maple syrup flap jacks and an apple and pine nut cake.  Later I made choc chip cookies.

We got a call early afternoon to pick BB up.  They had finished much earlier than planned.  They must have just put their heads down against the rain and walked.  He was wet and weary, but in good spirits.  He deposited yet another loads of washing.  The rain went off later in the afternoon so TT and I went for a river walk.  The river was high, but doesn’t seem to have burst its banks.  It was very wet and muddy underfoot.

Later TT and I headed out to meet friends for a lovely dinner.  It was such a lovely evening.  Lots of laughter and chat and a celebration thrown in for good measure.

We walked over the river this afternoon, and then back over again when we went to the Waterside this evening for dinner.
