Piccadilly Circus

They say 'It was like Piccadilly Circus' to suggest crowds of people, and that was certainly the case at the real Piccadilly Circus this evening. It is usually a busy spot but there were hordes of tourists that must have descended on London for the Easter weekend!

Earlier, S and I watched the world go by (and very interesting it was too!) from our window perch in a favourite coffee shop on Seven Dials. After a slow wander around Soho we went to see the movie 'Side Effects', supposedly Steven Soderbergh's last directorial outing. Although not a classic film, we were thoroughly entertained for the best part of 2 hours.

This image was taken from a doorway around the corner from the cinema (S acting as a very able photographer's assistant!). We struck up a conversation with two gentleman of the street who were charming. One of them told me he was a photojournalist, had covered the Bejing Olympics and quoted a book where I could see his work. We mused on what could cause such a change in circumstances, but the can of Strongbow he was clasping might have been a giveaway!
