Scotland-China connection

Imagine my surprise this morning to find a What's App message from Grace, the first student we ever hosted from Stirling University in 1989.

We kept in contact for number of years, even visiting her in Hong Kong where she, along with Phyllis, spent several days showing us around the city.
Then we lost all trace. This morning’s text explained what happened. Her email account was hacked and she had lost all her friends. By pure chance she found me on What’s App.

So I dug out this  photo taken 32 years ago up on Arisaig, famous for its white sands , where we were staying with my cousin, Tony, who had given up his job in ICI to move to Scotland and become a fisherman. We stayed with him in his cottage in Mallaig.

Today Grace (pictured right)  is in a seminary in Hong Kong and her companion Phyllis emigrated to Vancouver.
