Sunday stroll..

Five Find-outers and Dogs...aka five Samba Sisters plus Jess, Archie and Max  - went for what Fiona had told us would be a gentle afternoon stroll from Brow Well out along the merse.

It was here that Robert Burns came to drink the waters and wade into the Solway in the hope of curing his rheumatic fever, but most likely hastening his death, in July 1796.

Jess had never met Archie or Max before, but they all got along well and ran about, chasing each other and leaping the watery channels between the paths. We ate our packed lunches sitting on a driftwood log and then made our way back along the merse...but the high neap tide was rushing into all the channels and some of us hadn't worn our wellies..one of the footbridges we had crossed on our way was almost submerged.

After some bush (bramble) - whacking and fence-climbing, we ended up in a field with no more mishaps than wet clothes and feet :-)

Jess had another walk with me and Joanna when we got home, so I've given her an early tea!
