Gulls

There is a field nearby which floods after rain and looks like a big lake , but you could probably wade through it in wellies. I call it the Fake Lake. It seems quite popular with birds in winter though and attracts a few passing species as well as ducks.
Today’s low autumn sunshine showed the little gulls up well. Not sure  exactly what they are, black headed gulls? They’re quite small and pretty in a way. I think they are classed as a seabird but they are as far from the sea as you can get in this country, about eighty miles in a straight line.
