The Green

The subtropical rainforests of Yakushima are amazingly verdant; in fact the under-canopy is much greener than I saw in Borneo. Everything in sight is covered with a green organic sludge, made up of hundreds of different plant species. It's amazing to think that they are competing, rather than working together, to cover the forest floor!
