Day 35 Level 3 Lockdown Step 1

Another busy day today - supermarket run, work, training, more work, and no walk.

As we walked the short distance home from delivering Mum’s groceries to her, we noticed the agapanthus starting to flower in an overgrown border alongside the EastMed property. Not only were there agapanthus, but also beautiful wild roses clambering through the agapanthus plants and climbing up the trees.  There is actually a bee on the cluster of roses above the agapanthus, sitting at about ten past. Thankfully, today’s blip was solved.

This is our last day of Level 3 Step 1, as we move to Level 3 Step 2 tomorrow, which means retail stores can now open. We are somewhat gobsmacked that people are already queuing today, although the shops don’t open until tomorrow. They must be desperate for some excitement. Little by little, we are easing out of the lockdown we have been in for twelve weeks so far - five weeks in Level 4, two weeks in Level 3 and five weeks in Level 3 Step 1.

There are 125 new community cases today, of which 117 are in Auckland, six in Northland and two in the Waikato.
