Verterans Day

I tied my knitted poppy on my jacket today in honor of all those who served in war.   One uncle was in WWll and my Dad was in the volunteer Coast Guard.  We’ve been lucky.   Our president pointed out that this is the first Veterans Day in two decades without troops in active combat.   Well, that’s something.
It’s also our older son’s birthday …we’ll get his birthday portrait on saturday after Fiona and I do some baking.

The patten to make this came from a blipper in the UK where the poppy displays are stunning.
