Training for Rio

Our visitors arrived yesterday evening after 9 1/2 hours on the road, delayed by Easter traffic on the M6 heading for the Lake District. At least the weather and road conditions were good. It had been two years since we last met up. So, it was lovely to see everyone and great to meet the little one for the first time. The youngsters had great fun exploring on their first visit toThisOldHouse, discovering the secret cupboard and sleeping on an airbed.

This morning we all went pottering about the field , inspecting the burn and the hollow tree. Then the adults watched a display of athletics and gymnastics in the garden. They might be a little young for it but Rio in 2016 was the declared objective. All too soon they were all on their way again en route to the wonderful Western Isles. The weather for the next week promises to be cold but dry - it will be stunningly beautiful there and we are just a little envious!
