A dreich morning, then sunshine

The day started just like yesterday - whiteout rain and wind.  However, this afternoon the sun emerged and we managed to go for a short stroll.

As it’s Remembrance Sunday, I thought it appropriate that today’s blip is of a picture that hubby created for Anzac Day last year, which hangs in our lounge room. It features the poppies over a map of the Dardanelles.

It’s Day 5 of Level 3 Step 2 and today’s total of 207 new cases is a record high since the very first case of Covid-19 in New Zealand back in February 2020. The vast majority (192) are in Auckland, but numbers are increasing around the country, with 7 new cases in the Waikato, 2 in Northland, 4 in the Lakes district, and 2 in the Tararua district. Sadly, there has been another death - an elderly woman in her 90s who had a number of underlying health conditions.
