Remembrance Sunday

We watched the laying of wreaths at Whitehall's Cenotaph this morning before heading off to Stratford to visit the Memorial Gardens where the local dignitaries had laid their wreaths.  In previous years we have mingled with the crowd that accumulates around the garden on Remembrance Day, but today we wanted to have a quiet look without the many people. This is a section of the local organisations' wreaths, including the one from WRAP.

From there we walked down to Waterside to see the latest contribution to the Christmas lights; a giant swan, a fitting memorial to the many swans that have died recently due to Avian Flu.  The gulls on the post were not impressed! (see extras).  Then via Sheep Street and High Street hunting out a coffee shop.  We finally settled on Box Brownie on Henley Street.
