Barnacles

I’m sure most folk will have seen film of tiny goslings leaping off cliffs, bouncing off rocks, miraculously picking themselves up unharmed then dodging Arctic foxes to reach the sea and safety. No? Well it doesn’t matter as these Barnacle geese will probably have done just that because the entire population rests up here on the Solway on their annual migration south to Africa.
I’ve gone overboard and loaded a pile of extras from today’s wandering along the shore. It was a good day out, only slightly spoiled by the travails of finding a pub that’d serve lunch after 2pm. Scottish hospitality at its traditional worst but three cheers for the Anchor Inn in Kippford!
