Remembering...

These busy weekends spent socialising and in the company of others really make the time go quickly!

No sooner had we risen from our regular Sunday morning lie-in and tablet time before we were off to Grange with some friends for a frantic game of 2/3 aside football and a mooch along the prom with a much-needed brew. The children played brilliantly and in some senses it was a shame to rush back, but mouths needed feeding and The Youngest had a ‘Pamper Party’ to get ready for.

Somehow the timings all worked out and The Eldest was able to set to work on The Youngest in getting her hair sorted and bedecked in something approaching suitable party attire (basically something sort of pink and a necklace to accessorize) – through the strength of her own character, The Youngest is not for wearing a party frock. That said, when I collected her, her face had been made up, her nails had been done, a blue streak had been run through her hair and her feet had been subjected to some weird gel treatment, which I don’t think she’d appreciated. To my eternal regret, I failed to photograph my painted imp.

On our walk home, we stopped at the war memorial in town to place their remembrance pebbles which they painted at Cubs last week. I may have jumped the gun a bit, but it did at least give us time to stop for a brief moment and think about all of those who gave their lives.

Fab weekend.
