Quod oculus meus videt

Deerbolt Wood, Grasmere

A final morning in the Lakes.  It was cloudy and murky as I walked out before breakfast.  Thankfully the wind was light and as I approached the lake I could see the reflections for the island in the water.

I spent a delightful hour or so, just walking along the edge of the lake and down the Rothay River to White Moss, before returning to the 'beach' at the southern end of the lake.  The colours from the trees seemed to intensify in the persistent drizzle.

It's been a fantastic week away, a great opportunity to relax and enjoy the scenery, company and hospitality.
