Spin On Spindle

Whatever spin I might try to put on this pic it's a lame photo but it's all I have. I got involved and didn't pick up the camera again.

This is the fruit of the spindle tree. Another of my native favourites. The pink capsules open to reveal the poisonous orange seeds. The tree has hard straight stems used in the past for spindles and skewers and it makes good charcoal. The leaves turn prettily in the autumn.
