Rain, rain, rain

The atmospheric river has finally ended but what damage it's caused!  Our little seasonal creek has overflowed and there's water everywhere. I took this image of a puddle beside our trail through the forest, steps from our home. There are several washouts on the only road we have to the main road to town, and who knows when repairs will happen? The RCMP also closed the main road because a lake that's close to it has flooded.  Might be awhile before we go anywhere! Our neighbour Bill had walked a short distance down the road to check things out, didn't get far, and stopped in on his way back to let us know how it looked. He had to cancel the appointment for the booster shot that he had for today. His shoes and socks were soaked, so G gave him a pair of socks and I put his in the dryer. He had a sandwich and coffee with us before heading home. I walked up the road with him and took the photo in the extra of him going up his driveway, almost dry socks in hand.  :-) Luckily the rain stopped and I was able to get out for a blip.
We're much luckier than others in the province though. Here's a link with some photos showing flooding and road closures. The residents of one city have been evacuated, others have been evacuated or have been given evacuation alerts. People were trapped in their cars between two slides on one of the highways, and all of the highways to the interior have been closed. Plenty of snow on the roads in the mountain passes too.  Incredible!
