Golden tunnel

The autumn colour at Thorpe Wood is pretty much at its peak now - intensely golden Hazel, Field Maple in shades of yellow to burnt orange and rich auburn Oaks.

A walk round the wood was a welcome break in a rather bitty day spent commenting on a report, trying to book my car into Citroen for its engine replacement (one step nearer now), food shopping, attending an online committee meeting and presenting a webinar to the Rutland Group of the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust. All seemed to go well, though I still find it uncomfortable to give an online presentation when there's no audience feedback!
