New lens!

This is taken with the Laowa 24mm macro probe lens. Rob has rented it to do some Crimbletown filming and so I decided to have a go in the garden. It has a maximum aperture of f14, yes....F14!!! So you have to crank up your ISO and shoot in bright light. Luckily the sun came out to make this shot possible. To give you a comparison with my regular 105mm macro, here is a recent shot with the usual blur in the background. The 24mm gives you a wide angle and the f14 gives you much more detail. Really you need a tripod as the foot long probe is hard to hold steady. I didn't use one today. It isn't a lens I would buy, firstly as it costs about £1600 and secondly because the opportunities for use are limited. Fun playing with it though.
